I was talking with Markus Baltes with short and randomly asked questions. First of all please tell us about yourself, much of the people know of Autumnblaze, but you also have another groups, would you tell us about them?

Apart from Autumnblaze, I have Sidewaytown and play also in a finnish group called Scarlet Youth. We’ve released an ep so far and are just working on our debut album. Will be kind of shoegazer, 80ties pop, atmospheric stuff I general. Really cool music.

And if we are here, Sidewaytown is from 2007, and this year it was released, why was it necessary and in 2007 how was it released? Will there be a continuation?

Well, I released “Years in the wall” by myself back then and tried to establish my own label. But I soon noticed that I haven’t got the capacaties to introdruce Sidewaytown to a wider audience so I was looking for a label that would release the album again and so here we are. There will be a second album for sure, I already work on pieces but it will take a while. I wanna do the next big step.

New Autumnblaze album as Perdition Diaries was released this year’s june. What is good to know about it?

It’s the first Autumnblaze since 2004 so for us it was like a new birth. I worked together with My friend and founding member Arisjel which was like going back to your real family. And Perdition diaries is a strong statement of melancholic dark metal, an album about the dark hours when a friendship seems to fall into pieces.

What is your opinion about nowadays economical situation, how muchly do you feel the crisis in your surroundings?

I don’t care about this stuff cause I have no influence on it. I don’t even know if it’s just a fairy tale of world governments to distract from our big problems, like climatic change and so on. Or a fairytale of companies so that they could release workers whenever the want.

You had a little work in Flaming Entity ten years ago, what is good to know about that and why did it have only three demos and then nothing?

Ha, ha, nobody ever asked me about Flaming Entity and I almost forgot it. I just helped them out with some clean vocals so I really don’t know why they never released anything else.

What would you do if happiness would be an apple?
A. bite it and eat it.
B. make it shine and put it away.
C. cut it up into little bits and eat it if i’m sad.
D. trade it for a pear… :}

Would choose C if it really cures from sadness.
